Avalanches and Snow Drifts Expected in Several Passes of Kyrgyzstan

From March 6 to 10, adverse weather conditions are forecasted in Kyrgyzstan, creating a risk of avalanches and snow drifts, as well as ice on the roads.

Meteorologists warn of a dangerous situation on the following sections of highways:

Bishkek — Osh

On sections 121–138 km — Töö-Ashuu Pass and 198–265 km — Chychkan Gorge, Ala-Bel Pass.

Myzrak — Kara-Kulja — Alaykuu

Section 55–115 km.

Ala-Buka — Kanysh-Kiya

On section 45–112 km — Chapchima Pass.

Red Hill — Ak-Tash

Section 0–3 km.

Bishkek — Naryn — Torugart

On section 292–305 km — Dolon Pass.

Balykchy — Kazarman — Jalal-Abad

Sections 201–205 km, 260–290 km, and 326–349 km — Kök-Art Pass.

Karokul — Engilchek

On section 45–90 km — Chon-Ashuu Pass.

Avalanches, snow drifts, and the formation of ice are possible on the listed sections.

Drivers are strongly advised to take increased precautions, maintaining a distance of at least 500 meters between vehicles.
