As part of the forum, which gathered representatives from government structures, international organizations, financial institutions, and the business community, initiatives for the implementation of the national label pilot and mechanisms for climate financing related to the Chatkal district were discussed. Participants of the event were familiarized with the scientific and analytical justifications, the proposed institutional model of the label pilot, as well as the main directions for the economic development of the Chatkal district, including energy, agriculture, small and medium-sized enterprises, tourism, and creative industries.
Medербек Tumanov, speaking at the forum, noted that the Chatkal district has every chance of becoming an important center for ecotourism, a producer of environmentally friendly agricultural products, and a leader in the field of green energy.
The Akim of the Chatkal district, Altynbek Senirbaev, also emphasized the prospects of ecotourism and the use of renewable energy sources. He reported that work has currently begun on the construction of a hydropower plant with a capacity of 160 MW.
One of the main outcomes of the forum was the agreement on the final resolution, which includes a general proposal for launching the national label pilot and implementing climate financing tools.
The forum demonstrated significant interest from both government structures and international partners in the development of the Chatkal district as a model for sustainable development of mountainous areas in the Kyrgyz Republic.
