At a joint meeting of the committees of the Jogorku Kenesh on December 23, the Chairman of the State Tax Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, Alambet Shykmamotov, announced a draft law that proposes benefits for the jewelry sector. This document is aimed at supporting local producers rather than assisting importers, with the goal of developing domestic production.
Analyzing the prospects of the jewelry industry, Shykmamotov noted that it combines high-tech solutions with a creative approach. With adequate government support and the implementation of the proposed measures, the industry could achieve a significant level of development over the next three to four years, which would create new jobs and significantly contribute to the legalization of the economy. He emphasized: "Increasing the tax burden on importers could contribute to the growth of the shadow economy, so we are focusing on supporting domestic producers." The Chairman of the Tax Service also added that the adoption of this law would be an important step towards long-term support for national production and sustainable economic development in the country.
