During a meeting of the Ministry of Energy's board, Deputy Prime Minister Bakyt Torobaev expressed confusion over the lack of profit at OJSC "Electric Stations" for the past year, despite the transfer of the Bishkek CHPP to the management of the city hall.

The company's General Director Alpbek Sadyrov noted that in the first half of 2025, "Electric Stations" showed a profit; however, by the end of the year, the financial result turned out to be negative due to loan obligations.

Torobaev reminded that earlier the Bishkek CHPP required subsidies amounting to 1.5 billion soms, while now the volume of state support has increased.

“Today, the CHPP receives 4 billion soms in subsidies, which you previously had to provide on your own. We removed it from your balance sheet, thereby freeing the company from this financial burden. Therefore, the question arises: where were these funds directed?” he said.

Sadyrov replied that a large portion of the funds goes towards servicing loans taken out for the modernization of the Toktogul and Uch-Kurgan hydroelectric power stations.

As a result of the discussion, the Deputy Prime Minister instructed to prepare a detailed analysis of the financial condition of OJSC "Electric Stations" before and after the transfer of the capital's CHPP to the municipal authorities.
