Artificial insemination allows farmers to save up to 60,000 soms

According to the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, one of the main directions of agricultural policy remains the development of breeding livestock. Given the high cost of breeding animals, the ministry recommends that farmers consider switching to artificial insemination, which represents a more cost-effective alternative to purchasing expensive livestock.

The ministry's press service reports that the average price of a breeding cow of the "Simmental" breed is 350,000 soms, while a weekly calf costs around 60,000 soms, making livestock acquisition difficult for many farmers. In response, the government offers free breeding semen through regional specialists. The insemination service costs on average only 1,000 soms, allowing livestock breeders to obtain breeding offspring with minimal expenses and significantly increase the profitability of their business.

To improve the gene pool, semen from four highly productive breeds that are well adapted to the climatic conditions of Kyrgyzstan is offered: Holstein-Friesian, Simmental, Swiss, and Aberdeen-Angus. These breeds have proven to be the best in terms of meat and milk production, as well as endurance in local conditions.

The use of artificial insemination not only enhances the productivity of individual farms but also contributes to the sustainable development of livestock farming across the country. The ministry strongly recommends that farmers consult regional specialists for advice and professional assistance in improving the quality of their livestock.
