Modern reclamation technologies are being implemented in Chui region to restore arable land

As part of his working trip, the Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Bakyt Torobaev, visited the State Enterprise "Kyrgyzmamasyltukumzavod," located in the village of Frunze in the Sokuluk district. He familiarized himself with the process of implementing reclamation technologies aimed at improving degraded arable land, as well as the use of modern agricultural machinery.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, a unit was demonstrated at the "Kyrgyzmamasyltukumzavod" that is used for deep soil loosening (chisel, cultivator, soil loosener), applied in the resource-saving agriculture system.

This unit allows for soil loosening at depths of 40 to 70 cm, breaking up the compacted subsoil layer, which improves soil permeability, helps retain moisture, enhances air exchange, and creates optimal conditions for the development of plant root systems.

This technology is used both in soil preparation before sowing and in the restoration of compacted and degraded lands. Experts note that the use of modern reclamation technologies can increase crop yields by 30%–35%.

Discussing new technologies in a test mode, the minister emphasized that the development of reclamation and the renewal of equipment in the agricultural sector before the start of tillage operations are key directions of modern agricultural policy.

"To increase agricultural productivity, scientifically grounded farming methods must be applied. Before plowing and sowing, it is essential to analyze the state of the soil to accurately determine its nutrient needs and choose optimal agronomic solutions," Torobaev noted.

Furthermore, the minister highlighted that the development of reclamation and technical modernization remain priority tasks of the state agricultural policy.

It was also reported that as part of state support, agricultural machinery worth 2.5 million US dollars will be purchased in 2025 for agricultural producers and breeding farms, which will be provided on leasing terms.
