Cafes and restaurants promised to 'optimize' prices for takeaway dishes, but only for those with takeout

A round table was held at the State Antimonopoly Service, where current issues were discussed with the owners of public catering establishments.

According to information provided by the Antimonopoly Regulation Service under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, cafes and restaurants agreed to reduce prices by 10% on dishes ordered for takeout.

The round table gathered representatives of government agencies and owners of public catering to discuss the implementation of the law prohibiting service charges.

Previously, establishments typically included a 10-15% service charge in their menus. With the adoption of the new law, these costs disappeared from the bills, but many citizens began to suspect that establishments simply transferred these costs to the price of the dishes. As a result, in recent months, prices for dishes have significantly increased, which was confirmed by inspections from government agencies.

In response to these concerns, entrepreneurs promised to optimize their pricing policy and introduce a 10% discount on takeout orders.
