A recent meeting organized by the State Tax Service of the Kyrgyz Republic focused on issues related to cashless payments in the business sector. The event was attended by representatives of the National Bank, the Interbank Processing Center, as well as commercial banks and the Banking Union.
The press service of the State Tax Service reported that the main focus was on the problems faced by entrepreneurs. The discussion touched on aspects such as the use of business wallets, POS terminals, bank accounts, cards, and QR payments.
Key issues highlighted include: high commissions for cashless transactions, delays in crediting funds to entrepreneurs' accounts, lack of information about the payer in bank statements when receiving payments via QR codes, and complex requirements from some banks that complicate business operations.
As a result of the meeting, the following measures were proposed:
- to explore the possibility of reducing commission costs for entrepreneurs making cashless payments;
- to develop technical solutions to expedite the crediting of funds and enhance the transparency of payment information;
- to utilize existing electronic services of the State Tax Service for verifying the registration of entrepreneurs without the need to provide paper documents;
- to initiate changes in regulatory legal acts to simplify the process of opening bank accounts;
- to consider amendments to banking legislation allowing entrepreneurs to use personal wallets for conducting business in a digital economy.
According to the State Tax Service, representatives of the National Bank and commercial banks expressed their readiness to consider the proposed issues and take necessary measures within their competence.
