The Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Department under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic organized a significant discussion regarding the support for domestic fish feed production. At the meeting, a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers was presented, which is intended to serve as a foundation for progress in this strategically important sector.
In addition to government officials, representatives from the business sector participated in the discussion, including producers, importers, and owners of fish farming enterprises. The main focus was on reducing dependence on imported supplies and ensuring that local farmers have access to quality and safe feeds produced domestically.
Meeting participants reviewed specific mechanisms of state support that will help businesses expand their production capacities. Representatives from the fish farming industry made their suggestions, some of which will be taken into account in the final version of the document. As a result of the meeting, it was decided to revise the draft resolution considering the opinions of entrepreneurs to ensure maximum relevance and effectiveness of support.
The ministry emphasizes that the development of feed production is a key step towards strengthening the entire fish farming industry in Kyrgyzstan, which will allow local farms to become more competitive and independent from external markets.
