Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev spoke at the "Agrodialog" forum. In his address, he summarized the work in the agricultural sector, emphasizing the key achievements of the past year.

According to him, the volume of agricultural production in 2024 amounted to 459.7 billion soms, which is 62.9 billion soms more than the previous year, with a growth rate of 102.2%. The production of the processing industry reached 104.7 billion soms, increasing by 16.2 billion soms compared to 2024 and showing a growth rate of 130.1%.

Positive results were also recorded in the export of agricultural products: over 60 types of products began to be supplied to more than 80 countries, and 6 out of 9 key types of socially significant products are provided to the country's population.

“These successes are the result of your hard work. I notice that the interaction between the government and business is becoming more effective each year. We have made significant progress in addressing issues related to fuel, lending, and other aspects,” the chairman emphasized.

He added that within the framework of the National Development Program of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2030, priority areas in agriculture have been identified, including: increasing agricultural production by 30%, doubling the volume of processing, reducing water losses to 15%, expanding irrigated land by 15,000 hectares, and improving water supply to land by 93,000 hectares.

“Given the critical importance of water resources, in 2026, 12.3 billion soms will be allocated for irrigation. In total, 41.1 billion soms is planned to be directed to agriculture, while in 2025, 31.5 billion soms was invested,” he noted.

Kasymaliev also emphasized the need to improve the material and technical base of seed production and breeding of livestock, as well as nurseries.

At the same time, special attention will be paid to the effective use of preferential loans for development projects.

The head of the Cabinet added that by 2030, it is planned to increase the processing of agricultural products to 25%, and by 2040 - to 50%. Currently, this figure is only 7%.

To achieve this goal, it is necessary to launch 385 new processing enterprises by 2030, of which 75 are planned for 2026, as well as to develop agro-clusters and value-added chains.

In his speech, he cited examples of successful experiences from the Netherlands, where tulip cultivation brings in over 1 billion euros, and Turkey, which exports dried apricots worth about 400 million dollars a year.

Kasymaliev noted that Kyrgyzstan has already begun exporting dried apricots and emphasized the importance of further work to promote Kyrgyz apricots on the international stage. The first step in this direction should be the active expansion of domestic product sales in the internal market.

“We need to increase the value of our products, modernize their promotion, and form a culture of consumption,” he added.

The chairman of the Cabinet also drew the participants' attention to the significance of science and education in agriculture and the economy as a whole, emphasizing that the government expects a substantial contribution from the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University and researchers in this field.

As part of the forum, awards were presented to employees of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.
