In accordance with the resolution of the Board of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, commercial banks are required to strengthen control over cash foreign currency transactions, particularly with Russian rubles. This decision is linked to the necessity of complying with legislation aimed at combating the financing of criminal activities and money laundering of proceeds obtained through illegal means.

This document came into effect on March 1, 2023, and will remain in force until March 1, 2027.

According to the resolution, this measure has been adopted to ensure the safety and reliability of the banking system of Kyrgyzstan, as well as to enhance the level of monitoring of cash foreign currency transactions, which is in line with the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On the National Bank".

Now, commercial banks are required to provide information about all client transactions involving cash rubles exceeding 5 million rubles to the National Bank no later than 11 a.m. on the following day after the reporting day.

The responsibility for complying with the requirements of this resolution lies with the management of commercial banks.

The information provided must include, among other things, data on the transaction history for all bank clients (both individuals and legal entities, residents and non-residents) across all accounts, including term deposits, demand deposits, settlement accounts, and cash ruble exchange transactions (both with account opening and without).
