Deputy Minister of Water Resources and Agriculture Mirbek Duyshiev, presenting the bill, noted that the new law will create a legal framework not only for cultivation but also for the processing of medicinal herbs. One of the main goals of the document is the sustainable use of natural resources: the organization of cultivated plantations will significantly reduce pressure on wild plants, which are currently harvested without control.
As the authors of the bill explained in an interview with vb.kg, the development of this direction will help significantly reduce the volume of herb collection in mountainous regions. This is especially important for preserving natural populations and maintaining the country's biodiversity, which is suffering from the depletion of natural resources.
The bill has received support from deputies such as Alisher Kozyuev, Umbetaly Kydyraliev, Mahabat Mavlyanova, Gulsharkan Kultaeva, Tabyldy Muratbekov, and Azizbek Tursunbaev. During the discussion, the parliamentarians proposed to expand the initiative by including measures to support the export of finished products and minimize potential harm to the ecosystem.
The transition of medicinal plant cultivation to "cultivated rails" is seen as a promising economic project that could create new jobs in the agricultural sector and enhance the country's export potential without harming wildlife.
