
Raisa Atambaeva, the former First Lady of Kyrgyzstan, is undergoing interrogation at the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This was reported by her daughter, Aliya Shagieva.
According to Shagieva, this morning a search was conducted in Raisa Atambaeva's apartment, after which she and her brother, Kadyrbek Atambayev, were taken for interrogation, which began at 8:00 AM.
“This is absolutely illegal. We are facing political persecution, violations of human rights and freedoms, as well as dictatorship,” commented the daughter of the former First Lady.
In turn, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan confirmed the information about the investigative and operational activities concerning Temirlan Sultanbekov, a politician born in 1998. He is suspected of calling for a violent change of power through mass riots.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a criminal case has been initiated against Sultanbekov under Article 278 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, which pertains to mass riots.
Also, Syimyk Japykeev, the former chairman of the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes, was summoned for interrogation. As Kaktus.media learned from sources in law enforcement, on the morning of November 22, Japykeev was at Issyk-Kul, where he was detained and brought to Bishkek.
The interrogation is being conducted as part of the case regarding calls for mass riots.
Searches were also conducted at the home of former member of the Jogorku Kenesh Kubanychbek Kadyrbekov. He himself reported this on his social media page, stating that he is being accused of calls for mass riots.
Journalist Dmitry Lozhnikov also reported on searches being conducted at the home of his ex-wife.
As for Kadyrbek Atambayev, the son of former president Almazbek Atambayev, he is also undergoing interrogation. According to Kaktus.media, his interrogation is related to the case concerning calls for mass riots.
“A criminal case was initiated after the appearance of a video featuring Temirlan Sultanbekov. Not only Kadyrbek and Temirlan are being interrogated, but also other individuals whose names are not yet disclosed,” the statement added.
