Ganiev added that the publication's employees were supposed to receive their salaries, but due to the searches, this did not happen. The police took away the accountant and a safe with cash, which was allegedly distributed "in envelopes." Journalists from the Almaty office also noted that "the safe with salaries was damaged" and that "Gulnara Bazhkenova's cabinet was ransacked, and all contents were taken except for the shoes."
It is difficult to predict what consequences will arise from the searches. Criminal cases do not arise by chance and do not disappear on their own. One can assert: impunity is not eternal, – Ganiev added.
The co-founder also promised to provide official financial support for salary payments, but he needs to contact the accountant due to a number of bureaucratic complications.
Only the accountant can provide accurate information about the state of the accounts of the LLP. Even if she were free, I do not have the authority to sign documents for payments. Only the director can appoint a new accountant, – he explained.
According to Ganiev, an extraordinary general meeting is scheduled for December 15, where the issue of replacing the director of the LLP will be discussed.
Earlier, it became known that a criminal case was initiated against journalist Gulnara Bazhkenova for disseminating knowingly false information. During the searches at her address and workplace, the editor-in-chief, the executive editor, a journalist, and an accountant were detained. All equipment and documents were seized.
