The Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic has commented on parents' questions regarding the introduction of the 12-year educational format, providing detailed explanations.
According to the department, the updated curricula fully take into account the age characteristics of children. All educational materials have been developed considering the psychology and physiology of younger schoolchildren, and the learning process is structured from simple to complex, with a gradual increase in difficulty.
For the first grade, play remains the leading activity, and the program is organized in such a way as to be as adaptive as possible. The curriculum for the second grade is based on the premise that students have completed the preparatory course "Narisete," and corresponds to the capabilities of seven-year-old children. The structure of learning is designed to avoid overloading the children.
The ministry also emphasized that teacher training is conducted regularly and will continue. Educators undergo training throughout the academic year, including summer and autumn periods. The Ministry of Education, the Kyrgyz Academy of Education, and the Republican Institute for Advanced Training of Teachers systematically organize methodological support, seminars, and courses for professional development. Professional materials and instructions for teachers are provided for the transition period.
Additionally, the provision of schools with qualified teachers is under the control of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science. The department actively collaborates with universities to increase enrollment in pedagogical specialties, improve their training, and ensure schools are staffed with highly qualified teachers.
“We are confident that the implementation of the transition to updated programs and 12-year education will be accompanied by all necessary measures to ensure that children are comfortable, teachers understand, and parents feel at ease,” the ministry stated.
Furthermore, the department emphasized its readiness for open dialogue and clarification of any emerging questions.
