During the inspection of vehicles, traces of tampering with the identification numbers (VIN codes) of the trailers were also found, which may indicate attempts to evade customs duties and distort information about the year of manufacture of the vehicles.
Currently, examinations are being conducted, and damage assessments are being made. After this, the case materials will be transferred to the Investigative Department of the State Customs Service.
The Customs Service emphasizes the importance of complying with legislation and does not allow the concealment of goods. They intend to continue taking all necessary measures to prevent such violations, which may fall under Articles 231 and 241 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
