August 2024. The European Commission sent an official letter demanding compliance with EU legislation. In response, Musk posted a meme from the movie "Tropic Thunder," which elicited mixed reactions.
By the end of 2024, his rhetoric shifted to concrete actions: Musk called on German voters to support the far-right AfD party and sharply criticized Italian judges on migration issues, stating that they "should go."
At this point, the conflict has reached a new stage. Musk is contesting a fine of 120 million euros imposed on the platform X. The issue is not about censorship but about violations of consumer rights:
- selling verification to any users, including bots;
- blocking researchers' access to public data;
- hiding information about advertising funding visible to users.
