Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla, made a bold statement on his platform X (formerly Twitter) that his humanoid robot Optimus will not only eradicate poverty but also ensure access to medical care for every person.
“Optimus will eliminate poverty and provide universal high income for all,” claims Musk.
Optimus, which was introduced as the first prototype in October 2022, continues to evolve within the company. In December 2023, a new version known as Optimus Gen 2 was showcased. At the Tesla shareholders' meeting in November 2025, Musk announced that a new iteration named V3 would be presented in the first quarter of 2026.
In addition to his statements, Musk shared a video created by well-known blogger and crypto entrepreneur Mario Nawfal during the Tesla shareholders' meeting on November 6. In this video, he emphasizes that only Optimus has the capability to free humanity from poverty and guarantee medical care for everyone. Musk adds that, ultimately, the care provided by the robot could surpass that of the most skilled surgeon due to its highest precision.
