The head of the population affairs department of the State Mortgage Company OJSC, Gulzat Totubaeva, reported at a briefing that in 2026, 40,000 apartments will be issued in Kyrgyzstan as part of the state mortgage program.

According to her, over the past two years, the State Mortgage Company has demonstrated outstanding results in implementing its housing program.

“The company was established in 2016 and initially operated through partner banks, which made decisions on granting or denying financing for applications that met the criteria. However, by the end of 2022, only 9,000 families were able to take advantage of this program. In response, the country's leadership decided to revise the mortgage policy. Since the beginning of 2023, we have started to build multi-story buildings ourselves, which has allowed us to issue 4,600 apartments,” Gulzat Totubaeva said.

She also noted that many citizens have been waiting for housing since 2020 and 2021, and the situation has not changed.

“The situation is related to the fact that the construction of facilities only began in 2023, and we started issuing the first apartments in December 2024. Therefore, in 2026, the queue will move significantly faster. In total, we plan to issue about 40,000 apartments across the country, including more than 4,000 in Bishkek,” she added.
