Border agreements in Central Asia received high praise from the UN

On December 15, 2025, at the initiative of Kyrgyzstan and under the chairmanship of Germany, a meeting of the UN Peacebuilding Commission took place, where the successes of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan in resolving border conflicts were highlighted. This information was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.

The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Asein Isaev, emphasized that the region has proven that even the most complex and historically conditioned problems can be resolved through dialogue and mutual respect. Over the past few years, the three countries have demonstrated determination, diplomatic maturity, and political will in peacefully resolving border disputes in accordance with international norms.

More than 80 UN member states attended the commission meeting.

Representatives from countries such as Morocco, Poland, South Africa, Armenia, the EU, Russia, the USA, Japan, Pakistan, Cambodia, Australia, the Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Brazil, India, Austria, Thailand, and others congratulated the countries of the region on the agreements reached and noted them as an example for resolving sensitive issues thanks to the political will of the leaders.

The commission generated significant interest among UN member states regarding the processes in Central Asia.

Asein Isaev also participated in the UN Security Council meeting dedicated to the theme "Leadership for Peace".

In his speech to the Security Council members, he stressed that leadership in ensuring peace in Central Asia must be based on practical cooperation focused on the interests of the population. Kyrgyzstan reaffirmed its commitment to the cause of peace, stability, and dialogue.

During his visit to the UN, Asein Isaev met with the President of the UN General Assembly, Annalena Baerbock, where they discussed issues of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the UN, the role of the General Assembly, and other relevant international topics.

Additionally, Asein Isaev held a meeting with the Director-General of the German Foreign Ministry for Peacebuilding and Stabilization, Julia Moner, where they discussed issues of developing bilateral cooperation.
