According to the minister, the project is being worked on by the Chinese company Zhong Ji Mining and OJSC "Kyrgyzaltyn." Production processes have already begun, and next year, the extraction of metallic gold is expected. Previously, Mashiev reported that in 2025, Zhong Ji Mining intends to extract about 3.4 tons of gold.
Solton-Sary is located on the northern slope of the Kapka-Tash ridge, 355 km from Bishkek, at an altitude of 3500-3600 meters above sea level. The nearest railway station, Balikchy, is 175 km away, and the Bishkek-Torugart highway is located 82 km from the deposit. It includes three areas — Buchuk, Ak-Tash, and Altyn-Tor, with total estimated gold reserves of about 20 tons.
Background
In 2009, Zhong Ji Mining obtained rights to develop the Buchuk area in Solton-Sary. In the following years, it conducted exploratory work and in 2013 received a license for development until April 2033. The area of the site is 44 hectares.
However, in 2013, a conflict arose between the company's workers and local residents. The community expressed dissatisfaction with environmental pollution and the rapid development of territories by a foreign company. Protests began in 2011 when exploratory work commenced.

According to information from the Ministry of Justice, the head of Zhong Ji Mining is Gao Zhan Yi, and the founder is the limited liability company "CHINA GOLD HONG KONG BUCHUK MINING COMPANY LIMITED." This company was re-registered on February 2, 2023, but the date of initial registration in the Ministry of Justice is not specified. The main activity of the company is the extraction of other natural minerals and rocks.
