The grand opening of the cinema "Kosmos" took place in Tokmok, which has been fully renovated. This became known thanks to information from the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund.
Funding in the amount of 1 million 550 thousand US dollars was allocated for the reconstruction of six cinemas located in small and medium-sized cities of Kyrgyzstan, such as Batken, Cholpon-Ata, Kerben, Aravan, Belovodskoye, and Tokmok.
The cinema, which was built in 1973, had not been operational for a long time. As part of the project, a complete modernization was carried out: the 400-seat hall was renovated, modern digital equipment was installed, and furniture was updated for the comfort of viewers.
The return of the cinema has become a significant event for local residents.
“Our task is not only to invest in industry but also to improve the quality of life for citizens. The cinema in Tokmok is part of a broader program aimed at creating a unified cultural space in Kyrgyzstan. Supporting such initiatives is our direct contribution to the development of human capital and the formation of a modern, harmonious society,” commented Artem Novikov, chairman of the board of the RKDF.
This initiative will serve as a powerful stimulus for the development of local communities, create over 200 new jobs in the cinema network, and provide residents of remote areas with access to modern cinema, including locally produced films.
The project is being implemented with the support of the RKDF and is carried out by LLC "Atlant Cinema" under the direct instruction of President Sadyr Japarov and with the assistance of the cabinet of ministers.
