Deputies can openly express their opinions on any issue – Speaker of the Parliament

At today's meeting of the Coordination Council of the Parliament, the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, stated that deputies are free to express their opinions on any issues related to their activities.

As noted in the press release of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, the meeting took place on January 19 and brought together the Speaker, his deputies, as well as the leaders of deputy groups and committees, along with the administrative leadership.

During the meeting, important aspects of the parliament's work and legislative proposals were discussed, and participants expressed various ideas and suggestions.

Turgunbek uulu emphasized that the Jogorku Kenesh is the main branch of government in the country. He noted that no law or reform can be implemented without going through parliament. "Nominations for positions in other branches of government also require discussion in the Jogorku Kenesh. It is important for all government bodies to understand their duties and responsibilities," he added.

Additionally, he pointed out that the relevant committees must carefully work through legislative proposals before presenting them for discussion to the entire parliament.

Turgunbek uulu also stated that the principles of transparency and freedom of speech will be strictly adhered to in the Jogorku Kenesh. He confirmed that deputies have the right to openly express their opinions, and all meetings will be broadcast live to the public.
