In addition to her work at the kindergarten, Toktakunova is actively engaged in creativity and poetry. She participates in public life, supports women by helping them solve various problems, and conducts educational events. Since 2021, she has headed the Council of Women of the Chet-Nurinsky Ayil Aimak and was a deputy of the Chet-Nurinsky Ayil Kenesh from 2021 to 2024.
Venera Toktakunova has participated in numerous competitions at various levels, where she has won prizes. For her achievements, she has been awarded honorary certificates from the Ayil Kenesh, state and regional administrations, as well as the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic. She is the recipient of the "Excellence in Education" and "Pride of the People" badges awarded by the public association "Aiyimzat."
Her methodological recommendation titled "Environmental Education in Kindergarten" was published in 2019 in Naryn and also in the newspaper "Kut Bilim." Toktakunova began writing poetry in childhood and actively participates in poetic events. She was awarded an Honorary Certificate at a competition dedicated to the birthday of Alykul Osmonov and a diploma at an international poetry competition in Kazakhstan. Her work covers a wide range of themes, and some of her poems have been set to music; however, a collection of poems has not yet been published.
Venera is married and raises two children — a son and a daughter. In an interview, she shared her views on parenting: "It is important to consider the interests and abilities of the child, to create a favorable environment for them, and to respect their personality. We must combine modern educational approaches with ethnopedagogy, returning children to the traditional values of the Kyrgyz people," she said. Toktakunova noted that the rise in crime and suicides among adolescents requires special attention, and upbringing should be based on respect for elders and care for the younger ones.
Reflecting on parenting methods, she emphasized the importance of being a role model for children, as they tend to imitate the behavior of adults. "Parents are a mirror for their children," Toktakunova noted, referring to the Kyrgyz proverb that children take examples from what they see in the family and society. At the same time, she emphasized that issues of adolescent behavior should not always be solely attributed to parents; society also plays a significant role in raising the younger generation.
Creatively, Venera shared that her journey in poetry began during her school years. Initially, she wrote poems in secret, but later, while working in the kindergarten, she began creating poems for children again. After gaining access to the internet, she started sharing her work on social media, and soon some of her poems were arranged by composers.
When asked about the most significant events in her life, Toktakunova spoke about the difficult times when she was pregnant with her son and raising her daughter, and how they shared small joys together. These moments taught her to appreciate simple things and be grateful for each good day.
