Gulbara Sydykova, a teacher with 26 years of experience from the Issyk-Kul region, has been working in the field of education for almost three decades.

In a conversation with a Turmush correspondent, she shared that her homeland is the village of Koochu in the Tyup district, where she was born in 1977. Gulbara received her secondary education in the humanities class at the T. Satylganov School-Lyceum in Karakol. Later, she enrolled in the philology department of the Issyk-Kul State University named after K. Tynystanov, where she obtained a qualification as a teacher of the Kyrgyz language and literature.

Currently, Gulbara works as a teacher of the Kyrgyz language and literature at the T. Myrzamambetov School in Toguz-Bulak, Ton district. According to her, her choice of profession was influenced by her parents, Imanali and Shairkul, who always dreamed of seeing their children be useful to society. Although the teaching profession has not always been held in high regard, it was important and honorable for the Sydykov family. Throughout her career, Gulbara has been awarded badges of honor "Excellence in Education" and "Kyrgyz Language," as well as numerous Certificates of Honor from local authorities. She has also participated in the "Teacher of the Year" competitions and received the nomination for "Creativity in Education."

Gulbara takes pride in the achievements of her students. The girls she prepared for the Kyrgyz language Olympiads are now studying at philology faculties. Every year, her students show excellent results in the ORT in the district. For example, this year, Aliya Turumbekova from the 11th grade scored 201 points, which is a significant achievement, she noted.

Sydykova is concerned that in the era of globalization, students are increasingly captivated by mobile phones. "We must keep up with the times, but it is important to teach children to use technology wisely. In the learning process, we often conduct dictations and essays to develop literacy. Once, when I was dictating to the 5th graders how to sign the cover of their notebooks, I asked them to write their last names, and one student, who wrote 'Balanchayeva Balancha,' caused laughter not only for herself but for the entire class — it became a funny moment," she recalled.

The modern teacher of the Kyrgyz language and literature must awaken children's interest in reading and cultivate their understanding of national values. However, in rural areas, where children grow up speaking Russian, this becomes an increasingly challenging task. Gulbara believes that overcoming difficulties depends on dedicated teachers who strive for the best for their country. "I wish them all good luck and energy in their work," she added.

In addition, Gulbara Sydykova is the mother of three sons and one daughter.
