According to data from Fresh, one of the main issues with the Geely Monjaro is the frequent need for transmission repairs, even with low mileage. Car owners report sharp jolts during shifting and delays in transmission operation. Major repairs can be quite expensive, which reduces the appeal of this model. As noted by Evgeny Zhitnukhin, the operational director of the automotive marketplace Fresh, the Geely Monjaro typically requires significant intervention after about 100,000 kilometers, which is considerably less than its competitors.
As for the Changan CS75 Plus model, owners note not only frequent problems with the suspension and cooling system but also serious malfunctions of the automatic transmission. The causes of these breakdowns are often low-quality transmission oil and untimely maintenance. The classic automatic transmission in this crossover usually does not last more than 120,000 kilometers without significant issues.
Despite its relatively recent entry into the market, the GAC GS8 also faces problems with automatic transmissions. The main complaints from users are related to the unstable operation of the torque converter and accelerated wear of components. GAC GS8 owners report needing to replace key transmission components every 130,000 to 150,000 kilometers. Regular maintenance may slightly extend the lifespan, but avoiding significant costs is nearly impossible, according to the expert.
The study emphasizes that purchasing a used Chinese car with an automatic transmission can be risky. Despite attractive prices and a wide range of options, such cars often have serious flaws related to the quality of components and frequent breakdowns. Zhitnukhin recommends that those planning to buy such a vehicle should consult official dealers to ensure thorough diagnostics of the vehicle's technical condition.
