From February 2 to February 20, 2026, the Ministry of Defense, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, will conduct career guidance activities in educational institutions, covering both general secondary and vocational education throughout the country.
According to information from the Ministry of Defense, the aim of these activities is to strengthen the military-patriotic education of youth, assist in making informed career choices, and increase interest in military service, as well as in training at military educational institutions both in Kyrgyzstan and abroad.
"Schoolchildren who have completed 9th grade can consider enrolling in the Kyrgyz National Military Lyceum (KNML), while graduates of schools, lyceums, colleges, and KNML have the opportunity to continue their education at the Military Institute of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic or at foreign military educational institutions," the agency noted.
Today, cadets from Kyrgyzstan are studying in more than 30 military educational institutions located in Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, and China, as well as in the only Military Institute of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, which is located in Bishkek.
"In recent years, the prestige of the officer profession has significantly increased, which is associated with the improvement of social and material conditions of military service offered by the state. Cadets of higher military educational institutions receive high-quality education completely free of charge and are fully supported by the state," the statement said.
Graduates of military educational institutions receive diplomas of higher education in their chosen specialties and guaranteed employment. Specialists of this level are in demand both in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic and in the civilian sector.
