- In Kyrgyzstan, regular checks of food products are conducted, during which batches of goods that do not meet safety and labeling requirements are discovered annually. This was reported by the head of the veterinary and sanitary safety department of the Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Tilek Tabaldiev, on the radio.

He emphasized that among the most common violations are: the presence of antibiotics, exceeding permissible microbiological standards, and discrepancies between the actual composition of the products and the information on the packaging. In particular, last year about 160 samples of food products that did not meet established standards were recorded.

Tabaldiev also noted that violations are observed in both imported and local products. For example, there have been previous cases of detecting antibiotics in poultry meat coming from abroad. In some cases, ingredients not listed on the packaging were found in the products, including DNA from certain types of meat.

When discrepancies are identified in imported products, the service forwards information to the competent authorities of the exporting country for investigation and resolution of the issues. In relation to local producers, joint activities with the veterinary and phytosanitary supervision service are conducted to correct and clarify to prevent repeated violations.
