The head of the veterinary and sanitary safety department in the veterinary service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Tilek Tabaldiev, shared information about control procedures regarding the import and export of animal products during a broadcast on one of the radio channels.

There are 19 veterinary laboratories operating in Kyrgyzstan, of which two have already received accreditation according to international standards, as noted by Tabaldiev. He emphasized that when exporting products, research is mandatory to check safety indicators, and only after receiving laboratory confirmation is a veterinary certificate issued.

The main research is conducted in laboratories located in Bishkek and Osh. In connection with the new requirements of technical regulations, the process of re-accreditation of these laboratories has begun, which is planned to be completed by the middle of this year.

In addition, Tabaldiev announced the start of preparations for the construction of a new veterinary phytosanitary laboratory, funded by a grant from China. Currently, the Chinese side is conducting a tender, after which construction will begin.

Regarding imports, he noted that all products brought into the country must be accompanied by permit documents and undergo veterinary control at the border. Upon arrival in the customs clearance zone, both documentary and physical controls, as well as laboratory tests, are carried out. A veterinary certificate of the Customs Union is issued only after confirming the safety of the products, which allows for their sale.

If dangerous substances are identified or permissible limits are exceeded during the research, the goods are subject to disposal or destruction, depending on the results of the laboratory tests.
