In the Osh region, quarantine phytosanitary control is being carried out for imported planting materials, conducted by the local office of the Department of Chemicalization, Protection, and Quarantine of Plants. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the control takes place in two stages.
The first stage of control occurs at the quarantine phytosanitary control post "Dostuk," located on the border with Uzbekistan. During this stage, a thorough check of all necessary documents is conducted, including phytosanitary certificates and freight transport invoices.
At the second stage, the inspection continues at the customs clearance point "Mega Logistic," where laboratory samples are taken. These samples are sent to the Osh quarantine phytosanitary laboratory. The issuance of a phytosanitary document, allowing the import of planting material into Kyrgyzstan, is carried out only after receiving negative (clean) results from the laboratory analysis. Additional measures for disinfecting the imported material are also conducted.
When importing planting material into the Osh region, a number of requirements must be met:
- the presence of a special permit from the Department of Agricultural Crop Expertise;
- a phytosanitary certificate from the authorized body of the exporting country;
- accompanying documents confirming phytosanitary cleanliness;
- an invoice;
- freight transport documents.
The Osh office of the Department of Chemicalization, Protection, and Quarantine of Plants emphasizes that strict adherence to phytosanitary norms is a fundamental condition for protecting the country's agriculture and preventing the entry of quarantine pests.
