On February 11, 2023, a resident of Osh, I.A., born in 1993, approached the bailiffs with a request to consider the issue of alimony from her ex-husband. According to her, the couple lived together for 12 years but separated 3.5 years ago due to domestic violence. They have three daughters, and, as I.A. claims, her ex-husband has lost interest in the children. When she raised the issue of alimony, he stated that he was renouncing his daughters. "I suggested he contact a notary to formalize the renunciation officially," she said.
After that, when they left the office, her ex-husband came back with a friend who suggested they talk outside. "When we approached the stairs, he unexpectedly kicked me from behind. I fell and got injured. Then he started to beat me, but other women in the building intervened and saved me," I.A. shared. She was taken to the hospital, where it was found that she had a broken coccyx and damaged lower back. "If the tests show normal results, I will need surgery. This is not the first case of violence on his part, but I did not go to the police then," she added.
According to the press service of the Osh city police department, the victim was issued a protection order. On the same day, around 18:10, the police department received information from a doctor at the Osh city hospital that a woman from Alymbek-datka street had sought medical assistance for injuries sustained on Kasymbekov street.
This fact has been registered as a case of domestic violence, and an investigation has been initiated. In her testimony, I.A. indicated instances of violence from her ex-husband. As a result, she was issued a protection order, and a forensic medical examination was appointed to assess the severity of her injuries.
The police detained the victim's ex-husband, S.E., born in 1991, who was interrogated by investigators.
Results of the examination are now awaited, based on which the investigative authorities will make further decisions.
