In the "Couples" section, we will get to know the interesting story of Umida Tokhtieva from Talas and her husband Asanbek Malik uulu.

During a conversation with a Turmush correspondent, Umida shared how an unexpected trip changed her life.

Umida was born on December 15, 1995, in the village of Belovodskoye and is of Uyghur descent. She graduated from the local high school.

Her husband, Asanbek, was born on July 1, 1991, in the Chui region.

The couple currently lives in Talas.

Interestingly, their acquaintance happened under unusual circumstances. A few days before their first meeting, Umida was celebrating her boss's birthday, where, while working at a wellness center, she participated in a wish-writing contest. Among other things, she wrote that she dreamed of a salary of 100,000 soms, a car, and meeting someone who would become her other half.

A few days later, while waiting for a bus at the stop, she got into a car where a young man was driving. On the way, they picked up another passenger who got off at the Kirkosmtrama stop.

After that, the driver asked where she worked. Umida named the street, and they continued their journey, talking and getting to know each other. At that time, Asanbek was just a driver, but since then they have not parted and have been living together for three years.

She cannot say exactly when Asanbek realized his feelings, but she mentions that after a brief separation, he confessed that he did not want to let her go and loved her.

Umida noted that their wedding was modest, as it was not the first marriage for either of them.

"At first, our families were skeptical, but after the first meeting with Asanbek, my parents changed their minds. His mother welcomed me very warmly," she added.

Umida feels comfortable in Kyrgyzstan, as many traditions are similar. She is learning the Kyrgyz language and is already speaking it quite well.

She particularly likes how her husband's family cares for their daughter—her sister-in-law. "She is loved and protected; she always sits at the table in a place of honor and occupies the front seat in the car. The attitude towards daughters here is based on respect and care—this is a very beautiful tradition. As a daughter-in-law, I see how they treat her and understand how my daughters will be treated," Umida shared.

She recalled many funny moments: "We really have a lot of them. My husband is a very positive person who always smiles, even in difficult times.

Right now, we have almost no free time, as we have opened three businesses in Talas and are actively developing them. We have five children.

In the future, we plan to continue to grow and move forward."
