On March 16, 2026, the Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, held an on-site meeting at the intersection of Chuy Avenue and Abdrahmanov Street.
Currently, the owners of the area are dismantling previously installed structures. A sketch project has also been developed, which envisions the restoration of the fountain composition and the improvement of green spaces.
The head of the capital urged the management of TSUM "Aichurok" to avoid repeating past mistakes. "We should not allow the same blunders. Today you are fencing off this space again, and tomorrow boutiques will appear there. It is important to create an open space for citizens and organize a recreation area here," the mayor noted.
Additionally, the mayor instructed to prepare a final project for the next meeting of the urban planning council so that after the dismantling works are completed, the restoration and improvement of the area can be promptly initiated.
Together with representatives of the "Tashbolot Holding" company, the mayor also inspected the site of the Old Bishkek project, where a decision has been made to demolish a three-story building. Considering the opinions of local residents, the creation of pedestrian and green zones is planned for this area.
As a result of the inspection, Mayor Aibek Junushaliev instructed city services to monitor the implementation of projects. All facilities along Chuy Avenue, including the Beren Gold building, must comply with the design code of the capital.
