On March 14, 2026, at 02:00, inspectors from the Regional Department for the Fight Against Livestock Theft, together with representatives of the Main Department of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service, conducted monitoring to prevent livestock theft. This information was announced by the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan.
As part of this inspection, four mobile groups were organized with the participation of patrol police officers, covering the following markets:
- Osh Market in the Lenin District
- “Altyn Taka” Market in the Pervomaisky District
- Alamedin Market in the Sverdlovsk District
- Orto-Say Market in the Oktyabrsky District
At the entrance to the “Altyn Taka” market, attempts to import beef cattle with invalid veterinary documents were recorded.
Specifically, a Mercedes-Benz vehicle was transporting 16 carcasses of cattle, of which only 14 had the necessary veterinary documents. At the same time, a Sprinter vehicle transported 5 carcasses of cattle, and one of the documents was found to be expired.
Additionally, there was a case of transporting three horses without veterinary documents. At the Osh Market, an attempt to sell a horse carcass without the appropriate documents was also prevented.
For all identified violations, inspectors conducted explanatory conversations with the vehicle owners, and the information was forwarded to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
These inspection activities will continue to combat livestock theft and ensure compliance with veterinary standards.
