In Bishkek, prices for meat are being checked in markets and shopping centers

In Bishkek, control over prices for meat and other socially important products continues, the city administration reported.

This monitoring is being carried out in the Sverdlovsk, Pervomaisky, Lenin, and Oktyabrsky districts, where regular inspections are conducted in markets and stores together with representatives of the veterinary service, antimonopoly regulation, and tax authorities.

Inspections are conducted in markets such as "Osh Bazaar," "Orto-Sai," "Alamedin," "Dordoi," "Aziz," as well as in retail chains "Market," "Globus," "Asia," and others.

During the inspections, explanatory conversations are held with sellers about the inadmissibility of unjustified price increases and the necessity to comply with the established maximum prices for goods. Special attention is paid to the maximum price for beef and lamb, which should not exceed 680 soms per kilogram.

Additionally, measures are being considered to increase the volume of meat trade at affordable prices, including the allocation of trading places without intermediaries and the opening of new sales points.

The city hall also reminded that wholesale meat trading at the Osh market will cease from January 14, 2026. In this regard, a new meat pavilion "Chuygun" has opened on the territory of the "Altyn-Taka" livestock market, which fully complies with sanitary and veterinary standards. Currently, wholesale meat trading is carried out in this pavilion.

Retail meat sales continue in the "Taza Adal Et" pavilion, where local residents can purchase quality and safe products.

At present, wholesale prices for meat are as follows: lamb – 640–680 soms, beef – 640–680 soms, horse meat – 540–560 soms, while retail prices start from 660 soms.
