As of January 14, 2026, the meat wholesale platform at the Osh market has ceased its operations. Wholesale meat sales are now conducted in the new specialized pavilion "Chuygun," located on the premises of the livestock complex "Altyn-Taka," near the village of Maevka.
This step is the result of a decision made by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic. The main goal of the relocation is to ensure that trade complies with strict veterinary and phytosanitary requirements. Authorities emphasize the importance of such measures for ensuring food security and guaranteeing that the population receives only quality and safe food products.
The new meat terminal "Chuygun" is a modern building with an area of 800 square meters, fully compliant with sanitary and hygienic standards. It includes an office and a veterinary service laboratory, a quarantine storage facility, as well as a 90-square-meter cold storage room for industrial storage and other necessary service premises.
This reform will create more convenient and civilized conditions for entrepreneurs and suppliers from various regions. Now, wholesale meat sales in the capital will take place in a safe, clean, and organized environment, eliminating risks associated with unregulated trading in unauthorized locations.
