The plant is located in the northern part of the capital and is the result of a decision made in 2023 to combat the accumulated waste in the city.
Among the honored guests at the ceremony was President Sadyr Japarov. He emphasized that since the opening of the landfill in Bishkek, 20 million tons of waste have accumulated, which has negatively impacted the city's ecology. In 2023, a decision was made to construct a plant that would allow for the disposal of solid household waste without harming the environment, and ultimately a partner from China was chosen.
The project is being implemented under an agreement signed in November 2023 by Bishkek Mayor Aibek Junushaliev with the Chinese company Junxin. The total investment in the project amounts to 95 million dollars.
