In 2025, veterinary activities covered more than 25 million heads of livestock

Bakyt Sharapov, Deputy Director of the Veterinary Service for Animal Husbandry, Pastures, and Feed Development under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, reported that in 2025, veterinary activities covered 25 million 546 thousand heads of livestock. This information was shared on the air of Birinchi Radio.

Sharapov specified that out of the total number of livestock, 23 million 537 thousand animals received preventive vaccinations, while 12 million 17 thousand underwent diagnostics. Additionally, 738 thousand animals were treated for parasites.

According to him, the planned targets were achieved at 104 percent.

He also noted that strict veterinary control is implemented in livestock markets to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

"Veterinary specialists constantly monitor animals arriving at markets and slaughter points. Every buyer has the right to request a veterinary certificate from the seller confirming the control has been passed," he added.
