In the Uzgen district, certain batches of baby food under the "Nestlé" (Russia) brand have been withdrawn. This was reported by the Uzgen District Center for Disease Prevention and Sanitary-Epidemiological Surveillance.

According to this agency, the recall of the products was carried out to ensure safety, as one of the raw material components may contain the toxin cereulide.

As part of the inspection, 13 stores were checked, and baby food from "Nestlé" was found in four of them. In these cases, the products were removed from sale, and the owners of the retail outlets were advised to temporarily stop selling products of this brand.

Consumers are strongly advised to carefully check the name and production date of the products. If they match the recalled batches, it is recommended not to use this product.

Earlier, the Department of State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance under the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan already reported receiving an official notification from the company OsOO "Forester" about the voluntary recall of certain batches of Nestlé baby food for safety reasons.

The recall concerns dry instant milk, fermented milk, and lactose-free mixtures under the brands NAN 1 OPTIPRO, NAN OPTIPRO 2, NAN EXPERTPRO, NAN 2 OPTIPRO, PRENAN, and NAN LACTOSE FREE with specific production dates.

The department noted that the notification about the voluntary recall came from the distributor of "Nestlé" baby food — OsOO "Forester".

As stated by the agency, the recall is being carried out due to the potential threat of the presence of the toxin cereulide in the raw materials, particularly in arachidonic acid. The official distributor has already begun withdrawing these batches from retail outlets across Kyrgyzstan.

The department also recommends that consumers check the name and production date of baby formulas. If they match the recalled batches, they should immediately stop using them and contact the distributor for a return.

The manufacturer reports that the recall concerns a limited number of batches that may potentially contain the toxin cereulide.

Cereulide is a toxin produced by certain strains of the Bacillus cereus bacteria, and it is resistant to high temperatures. Symptoms that may occur from consuming contaminated products include vomiting and diarrhea, similar to food poisoning or an allergic reaction to cow's milk proteins.

It is worth noting that similar batches of baby formulas from "Nestlé" have previously been recalled in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
