At a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with labor, health, and social policy issues, Deputy Gulnara Baatyrova made a request to the Ministry of Health to pay attention to the situation with the distributor of baby food "Nestlé" — LLC "Forester".

She emphasized that despite the recall of the products, some baby formulas are still available for sale at various retail outlets, including pharmacies.

Previously, the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Department notified that the official distributor initiated a recall of dry instant milk, fermented milk, and lactose-free formulas under the brands NAN 1 OPTIPRO, NAN OPTIPRO 2, NAN EXPERTPRO, NAN 2 OPTIPRO, PRENAN, and NAN LACTOSE FREE, produced on specific dates.

The reason for the recall was the identification of a potential risk of the presence of the toxin cereulide in the raw material, specifically in arachidonic acid. This toxin, produced by certain strains of the bacteria Bacillus cereus, is resistant to high temperatures.

Consumption of contaminated products can lead to various symptoms, including vomiting and diarrhea, which resemble food poisoning or an allergic reaction to cow's milk proteins.

It is worth noting that similar batches of Nestlé baby formulas have already been recalled in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
