Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease that affects both small and large joints. It is an ailment that can affect both adults and children; however, women of reproductive age are at the highest risk, as reported by rheumatologist Farida Mukambaeva on the air of "Birinchi Radio".

She noted that one of the causes of rheumatoid arthritis may be heredity, although the mechanisms of the disease still require further study.

Among the main manifestations of rheumatoid arthritis, morning stiffness of the joints and pain can be highlighted, which usually intensify at night or early in the morning. In the early stages of the disease, small joints are affected, and then the process may move to larger ones, leading to swelling and deformities in the joint area.

When these symptoms appear, it is important to consult therapists, undergo radiography, and take necessary tests to clarify the diagnosis and prescribe adequate treatment. Mukambaeva emphasized that the treatment of this disease is fundamental.

To prevent rheumatoid arthritis, it is recommended to undergo medical examinations every six months, increase the intake of foods and supplements containing calcium, as well as collagen. Maintaining a healthy weight and an active lifestyle is also very important. The doctor advises including more dairy products, aspic, sesame, and other sources of calcium in the diet.
