In Kyrgyzstan, there is a growing incidence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, as reported by the head of the gastroenterology department of the National Center for Cardiology and Therapy, Mamiraim Jumabaev, on the program "Birinchi Radio."

According to him, this disease affects almost every third person in the country. The main causes of the disease are improper nutrition, a sedentary lifestyle, and a lack of physical activity. In the future, this may lead to serious consequences, such as cirrhosis and other severe liver diseases. Additionally, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease can provoke the development of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

Furthermore, Jumabaev noted that stomach cancer has become the leading type of cancer in Kyrgyzstan, both among men and women. Previously, this pathology was predominant only among men, while breast cancer was the most common among women, followed by cancers of the pelvic organs and then stomach cancer. However, according to the latest data, stomach cancer is now being diagnosed more frequently in women as well.

The gastroenterologist also reported that there is an increase in cases of inflammatory bowel diseases among young people, such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.

In recent years, 75% of visits to gastroenterologists have been related to functional gastrointestinal disorders, while 25% involve cases of organic pathology. Functional diseases are generally caused by lifestyle and diet, while organic diseases are divided into three categories:

- diseases of the stomach and duodenum with increased acidity;

- liver and biliary tract diseases;

- intestinal diseases.

Among the main symptoms indicating gastrointestinal disturbances are sudden weight loss, the presence of blood in the stool, anemia, and swollen lymph nodes. The main factors contributing to the development of diseases are diet, lifestyle, and a lack of physical activity and rest.

To maintain the normal functioning of the digestive system, it is important to engage in physical activity, eat properly by including more fruits and vegetables in the diet, and reduce the consumption of fast food, added the gastroenterologist.
