In Kyrgyzstan, 560,000 people were screened for hepatitis B and C in 10 months, with 14,000 testing positive.

According to the Republican Center for Health Strengthening, as of November 1, 2025, 270,953 people in Kyrgyzstan have been tested for hepatitis B. Of these, 8,256 received positive results.

As for hepatitis C, 289,094 people were examined, among whom 5,466 had positive results.

Vaccination against hepatitis B among the adult population covered 283,468 people who received the first dose, 234,245 who received the second, and 190,230 who received the third.

Hepatitis B is a viral liver disease that can manifest in both acute and chronic forms. The infection is transmitted through blood and other biological fluids, and it can also be transmitted from mother to child. The chronic form of hepatitis B can lead to complications such as cirrhosis and liver cancer.
