Private school "Seitek STEM" fined 28,000 soms after mass poisoning

The private school "Seitek STEM" was fined 28,000 soms by the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Center after an incident of mass poisoning.

According to the center, 84 people were affected by the incident, including 4 teachers.

"79 of the affected individuals sought help at the Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital, where they underwent examinations, including tests of washout water and stool samples. Five other patients received assistance at private medical facilities. Among them, 12 children were hospitalized, while the others received outpatient treatment," the center reported.

The preliminary diagnosis established by the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance is bacterial poisoning of unspecified nature.

In response to the incident, specialists conducted a thorough sanitary and epidemiological examination of the school's cafeteria and food block. They collected samples of food and swabs, checked compliance with sanitary standards, and assessed the condition of the staff. Administrative protocols for violations were drawn up against the head of the institution in accordance with the KR Code: under Article 214, Part 1 — for 5,000 soms, and under Article 214, Part 2 — for 23,000 soms.

The State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance continues to conduct an epidemiological investigation. "After receiving the results of laboratory analyses, a final assessment of the situation will be made, and appropriate measures will be taken in accordance with current legislation," it was noted in the official statement.
