On the air of "Birinchi Radio," cardiac surgeon Nurlan Koshoybek uulu spoke about why cardiovascular diseases are becoming one of the leading causes of premature death.

The specialist noted that these diseases hold leading positions among the causes of mortality both in Kyrgyzstan and globally. The greatest danger comes from coronary heart diseases, heart attacks, and strokes.

According to Nurlan Koshoybek uulu, the main factor contributing to the development of these diseases is lifestyle. "Negative habits such as smoking, lack of physical activity, poor nutrition with a high content of fast food, stress, as well as high blood pressure and cholesterol levels, contribute to the early onset of cardiovascular diseases," he emphasizes.

The cardiac surgeon also noted that many people do not pay attention to the first symptoms and only seek medical help when the disease has already progressed significantly, complicating the treatment process.

The doctor pointed out that he often sees patients aged 35-40 with serious heart problems.

"Modern people have become less active. Previously, physical activity was more common, and cardiovascular diseases were more frequently diagnosed in older individuals," he added.

Nurlan Koshoybek uulu also emphasized that poor nutrition, excess weight, and smoking play a significant role in the development of these diseases. "Smoking is the main risk factor reported by all medical studies. Young people, in most cases, ignore regular medical check-ups, do not monitor their blood pressure and cholesterol levels. This can lead to a hidden progression of the disease and an unexpected heart attack," he noted.

The specialist highlighted high cholesterol levels in the blood as one of the main causes of heart attacks.
