In 2025, a total of 194,682 newborn screenings were conducted in Kyrgyzstan, as reported by the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the information provided by the agency, over 80,000 infants underwent examinations to detect congenital diseases.

Among them, 84,216 newborns were screened for congenital hypothyroidism, resulting in 10 cases of the disease being identified.

Additionally, 60,753 children underwent screening for adrenal genital syndrome, with the diagnosis confirmed in only two cases.

For phenylketonuria, 49,713 newborns were examined, resulting in 3 cases of this disease being identified.

The Ministry of Health emphasizes that early diagnosis allows for treatment to begin at early stages and helps avoid serious complications.
