The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan conducted extensive inspections of private medical and pharmaceutical institutions across the country, representatives of the ministry report.
The aim of the inspections was to strengthen control over the quality of medical services and compliance with licensing legislation.
According to the press service, over 541 private medical organizations were covered during the inspections. It was found that 246 of them (45.5%) operated without valid licenses. Of the 295 licensed institutions, violations were identified in 110, including providing services in unlicensed areas, lack of certificates for employees, working without relevant education, hiring staff without medical education, non-compliance with sanitary standards, improper sterilization of instruments, and use of unregistered medications and medical devices," the press release states.
In response to the identified violations, administrative measures were taken: fines totaling more than 20.74 million soms were imposed, and the activities of 263 medical institutions were suspended. Materials on 246 cases of illegal activities were transferred to law enforcement agencies.
The Ministry of Health warns that treatment in unlicensed institutions may pose a danger to the health and lives of patients. Citizens and guests of the country are urged to seek services only from licensed medical organizations.
