The Prosecutor's Office has ordered to strengthen sanitary control in Bishkek schools after mass poisoning at the private school "Seitek Stem"

Following the mass food poisoning incident at the private school "Seitek Stem," the Prosecutor's Office of Bishkek has sent directives to the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Center demanding increased control over compliance with sanitary standards in educational institutions.

According to information from the Prosecutor's Office press service, it is necessary to raise the requirements for food organization, sanitary conditions, and the overall maintenance of educational establishments, as well as for the medical care of students.

It was also noted that there is a need for preventive medical examinations in educational institutions of all forms of ownership, strict adherence to anti-epidemic measures and sanitary-epidemiological norms, as well as enhanced control over infection safety.

On October 31, around 10:00 PM, patients with symptoms of food poisoning, including repeated vomiting, diarrhea, and severe pain, were admitted to the Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital. All the affected individuals reported that they had eaten shawarma at school for lunch that same day. A total of 84 people were affected, including 4 educators.
