Between 2010 and 2023, there has been an increase in the number of newly registered malignant tumors among women in Kyrgyzstan, while the rates for some infectious and social diseases, such as active tuberculosis and alcohol dependence, show a decline.
This data was presented by the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic. According to the information from the agency, malignant neoplasms remain one of the most important categories of diseases. The number of newly recorded cases increased from 2,566 thousand in 2010 to 3,371 thousand in 2023.

The most common are breast tumors: their number increased from 530 to 745 cases. It is also worth noting cervical and uterine body cancer, which, despite fluctuations in different years, amounted to 605 cases in 2023. Additionally, 248 cases of ovarian cancer were registered, which is one of the highest figures for the entire observation period.

At the same time, a decrease is observed in a number of infectious and social diseases. Thus, the number of active tuberculosis cases decreased from 2,341 thousand in 2010 to 1,602 thousand in 2023. The number of registered cases of alcohol dependence also decreased: from 361 cases to 92.

Data on mental disorders show fluctuations: the maximum number of registered cases was 1,843 in 2017, while in 2023 it was 1,200. Among diseases of the urinary system, a decrease in cases of chronic pyelonephritis is noted, which after a peak in 2013 (13,033 cases) decreased to 7,631 cases in 2023.

In gynecology, there is also a decrease in the number of cases of cervical erosion and ectropion: from 9,898 cases in 2010 to 4,105 in 2023. The rates of menstrual cycle disorders have decreased compared to the beginning of the period, but in recent years there has been an increase, reaching 5,752 cases.

The number of registered cases of female infertility has varied throughout the observed period and amounted to 1,247 cases in 2023, which is lower than the figures at the beginning of the decade. Special attention is drawn to the dynamics of pregnancy complications: after an increase to 69,571 cases in 2017, this figure decreased to 33,245 in 2020, and then increased again to 60,538 cases in 2023.

Thus, statistics indicate a rise in oncological diseases in recent years, while a decline is recorded in some infectious and social diseases. Issues related to reproductive system diseases and pregnancy complications still require attention from healthcare.
