An event dedicated to World Kidney Day took place in Manas, where nephrologists presented alarming data. According to them, the number of kidney diseases continues to rise, and they are becoming increasingly common among young people.

Elena Bapieva, head of the nephrology department at the Jalal-Abad Regional Unified Hospital, believes that the main reason for the increase in morbidity is the neglect of the fundamentals of a healthy lifestyle and the obsession with self-medication. "In our country, including our region, there is a recorded increase in cases of kidney diseases. Currently, 417 patients require regular hemodialysis procedures, and it is particularly concerning that this disease affects the young population," the doctor notes.

She highlighted several factors contributing to kidney failure among young people:

- Poor nutrition and harmful habits, including excessive alcohol and energy drink consumption.

- Lack of physical activity, leading to a sedentary lifestyle.

- Stress, which negatively impacts the nervous system.

- Attempts at self-medication and the use of "folk medicine" methods, which can lead to negative consequences.

- Drug use, which causes serious harm to the excretory system.

Elena Bapieva emphasized that early diagnosis is the only way to prevent severe complications. She urges people to take their health seriously and undergo medical examinations at least twice a year.

It was also reported at the event that there are 134 patients under medical supervision in the region who have undergone kidney or liver transplants.
